I agree have not the people in NYC ever heard of a Honda generator. Its easy to wire one up to the breaker box. pull the meter and wire it into the breaker box you could run the whole store probably. And gasoline to run the generator at the pump. The store owner could make a killing.  Wink

Gas Stations should be required to have GENERATORS by ordnance !

Hurricane Sandy shows you why:

"Some stations have gas, but no power to get it from underground and through the pump. Cones block access. Police stand guard."

"Jean Tanis, owner of the Delta station, said that he has gas, but without power, it is of no use. The motor that pushes oil stored underground to the pumps needs electricity to run, Tanis said. Then the pumps have motors of their own, necessary to funnel the fuel into cars and calibrate it so that customers get the amount that they are paying for. And if you have a credit card you'd also be out of luck, since electricity is necessary to process the payments."

This is just stupid and happens EVERY DAMN TIME!

There is no reason for this, they have all the fuel needed to run the generators right there so why isn't this a law?

All that is needed is some type of generator that will allow at least one pump to operate, it can even be a small portable generator, but require them to have one and test it every 6 months, not a big hassle and would save everyone in the community a BIG hassle.
