Smart Meter Class Action Lawsuit Filed in Bakersfield, Man Gets Meter Removed
Aug 27th, 2011 at 9:05am
"Pacific Gas & Electric has "paused" installing smart meters in the Bakersfield area because of complaints from residents that their new Pacific Gas & Electric smart meters are overcharging them. PG&E denies the allegations, noting that the rise in electricity bills some customers have seen come from other factors, such as regulator-approved rate hikes and air conditioning spikes during heat waves. Nonetheless, it has put a halt on new meters for now, utility spokesman Paul Moreno said Tuesday."

"Pete Flores, of Bakersfield, claims in the suit filed last week in Kern County Superior Court that ever since PG&E installed a smart meter at his home, he's been charged for more electricity than he has used. Right now Flores who says his average bill as jumped from about $200 a month to about $500 to $600 a month since he got a smart meter"

This guy got his smart meter removed:

"Dave Lynch says: August 25, 2011 at 2:39 pm
After both SMUD and PG&E installed smart meters against my wishes, I called SMUD and gave them an ultimatum: remove the smart meter as it violates the 4th Amendment of the US Constitution or I would, as a matter of privacy and personal safety manually destroy the transmitter.
No legislator or legislation written can userp the Constitution without an Amendmant, so whatever CPUC is using as their power, regardless of who wrote the law, is invalid.
I also informed SMUD that I would have to video to event and epmlor the news media to attend.
SMUD removed the smart meter and installed the analog unit. Thank you SMUD."
